As summer leans toward autumn, the Gauja Valley takes on a special kind of beauty - the air turns softer, the greens deepen, and the first golden leaves catch the light. This guided 23 km hike follows Sigulda’s local trails at this perfect in-between time of year, weaving together forest paths, riverbank tracks, gentle hills, and the occasional ridge with a view.
Along the way, we’ll step into sandstone caves, walk through moss-soft spruce stands, and pause at viewpoints where the Gauja glints between the trees. Some sections will invite you to push yourself - a slope to climb, a narrow path to balance - while others will be pure flow, letting you sink into the rhythm of walking.
Route: Sigulda local trails - forest paths, meadows, ridgelines, and riverbank tracks and town roads (exact route may vary depending on conditions)

Elevation gain: ~430 m
Best for: hikers who enjoy variety - from quiet riverside walks to short, more technical stretches - and want to explore Sigulda beyond the postcards
Difficulty: Moderate - steady distance with mixed terrain, short climbs, and occasional technical sections
