Step into a landscape that time carved with patience. The Gauja Valley isn’t just deepest river corridor in Baltics — it’s a living archive of ancient waters, sandstone cliffs, and glacial history. Over two days, we’ll hike approximately 50 kilometers through this spectacular terrain, tracing the curves of the Gauja River and following a path shaped for centuries.
Expect towering ochre bluffs, hidden ravines, pine-covered ridgelines, and viewpoints that feel entirely unbothered by the modern world. It’s not just a trail — it’s the story of the Baltics written in sandstone.
Route: Cēsis - Līgatne - Sigulda (specific route dependent on weather, etc.)
Distance: ~50 km over 2 days
Best for: hikers who crave deep nature, story-rich terrain, and the silence of ancient valley or want to prepare for bigger hiking adventures
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging - uphills, descents, river bends, forest trails
